Violin Opus 36

Giuseppe “del Gesu” Guarneri’s “Il Cannone” was Paganini’s preferred violin for decades and is one of the world’s most famous instruments. Its general outline and arching inspired my Violin Opus 36.

This violin has a powerful presence characterized by rich overtones on the low end and a sparkling high end. The headroom is practically unlimited. I custom-carved the chinrest supplied with this instrument to trim weight and refine the shape.

The previous instrument of this model sold immediately. The one before that plays full-time in the Philadelphia Orchestra in the hands of my daughter, Willa Finck.
